Homeopathic Treatment of a Milk Allergy or Intolerance

Updated: Nov 18, 2020

The present day rise in milk allergy and intolerance is due to the processing of heating (pasteurisation) and homogenisation of milk, which causes the fat particles which should sit on the top to become emulsified and not separate into cream. These fat particles become so small they are then able to penetrate the gut wall (leaky gut) into the bloodstream triggering an allergic response and allergy symptoms.

Milk allergy normally presents in infancy when cows milk is introduced when the digestive system is not adequately developed to digest milk proteins.

Symptoms of a Milk Allergy or Intolerance;

  • Diarrhea.

  • Nausea; sometimes vomiting.

  • Abdominal cramps.

  • Bloating.

  • Gas.

  • Colic.

  • Ear Infections.

  • Frequent Colds.

  • Constipation.

  • Asthma.

  • Heartburn.

  • Eczema.

  • Headache.

If you or your GP suspect a milk allergy or intolerance the advice will be to refrain from consuming dairy products. Homeopathy working on the basic principle of “what can cause can cure”, endeavors to curtail the body’s overreaction to the allergens by optimizing the immune system internally. Homeopathy does not regard allergy as a disease but as an imbalance in normal functioning of the body and it attempts to restore the balance in a gentle stimulation of the immune system with a Homeopathic Remedy.

There are many possible reasons why an imbalance occurs which causes the body to become sensitive to milk. Emotional stress, medication, vaccination, changes in weather could all be exciting causes. These triggers are important to a Homeopath and this information is included in working out the correct remedy.

There are more than 75 remedies that are indicated for a milk allergy. Through the process of discovering the individual symptoms of the presenting patient the most similar homeopathic remedy is prescribed, stimulating the immune system to heal the imbalance and therefore relieving the milk allergy.
