Do you lie awake worried about work the next day, worried about what the future may hold, or cancel engagements at the last minute because you just can’t go through with them?
You are not alone, everyone at some point in their life suffers with stress and anxiety. In one small study by a professor of psychiatry, 60% of participants with major depression, social phobias, or panic disorders responded favourably to homeopathic treatment.
Anxiety can manifest after experiencing a shock or a grief and others cannot remember a time that they were not anxious. There can be anxiety when thinking of the past or about the future, accidents which might happen, fears about health, money and many others. In my practice I have had great success in treating different types of anxiety, by prescribing a constitutional remedy.
What is a constitutional remedy?
A constitutional remedy is chosen by taking into account all the current symptoms a person is experiencing, previous health conditions, inherited tendencies and personality. When taking a case, I also take into account the type of anxiety being experienced, when it began and how it manifests physically in your body. Some people cannot sleep, others may experience digestive symptoms, pain or a weakened immune system. By giving a homeopathic remedy uniquely chosen, it gently nudges your immune system to overcome the anxiety and in my experience the symptoms of anxiety literally melt away.
Homeopathy can be useful for anticipatory anxiety before exams or a big event, such as having to do a presentation or a job interview. This kind of anxiety can cause someone to freeze making it impossible to think clearly about the task ahead. Potential remedies in this situation are Lycopodium, Aconite, Gelsemium and Argentum Nitricum.
